Ingredients
- 10 ounces of chocolate (around 75 % cocoa)
- 4 cups milk
Directions
Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Add the milk and chocolate to a medium size saucepan. Using a whisk, stir the chocolate until melted and milk is frothy. Bring just to a boil. Stop the heat for 5 minutes and let it boil a second time. Serve immediately with homemade marshmallows or a dollop of whipped cream garnished with chocolate shavings, if desired. This makes a wonderful, rich hot chocolate. You can also prepare some and freeze it, batch by batch, so that when you are craving a decadent treat you simply defrost, reheat, and enjoy.
Hint – if you have an immersion blender you can use it for mixing – it will give a nice frothy topping to the hot chocolate.
